On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

Unless you've been living under a rock (in the world of Broadway, at least), you've probably heard that Tiny Fey gave Mean Girls the greatest comeback of all time by writing a musical edition. I had the honour of seeing it (on a Wednesday, might I add) along with my cousin and can I just say that was as good, maybe even better than in some circumstances, the movie. Of course, attending a musical in the presence of the great Regina George meant going all out with the pink outfit.

The day before seeing it, my cousin and I ravaged stores and our closets to come up with our perfectly pink outfits. They were wonderful, to say the least, and I'm going to share mine with you!

Can we please take like, 16 moments to appreciate these ah-mazing shoes? More on them later!

Okay, here's another look at the shoes!

Here's a little bit of a better view of the dress, purse, and sweater. Also, does Taylor Louderman (aka Regina George) look like Sharpay Evans in the promotional photo or what?

So this dress was honestly not at all what I was looking for when I was shopping. I don't have any photos without the sweater on, but I'll describe it. It's a mock neck dress, it's sleeveless, and in the back, there is this one little open spot that hangs down pretty low and shows whatever bra you have on. Basically, if you're not wearing a sweater, it's a tad bit uncomfortable. Nevertheless, it's super soft and I really love the skater dress style it has. It's definitely the type of dress you can wear to nice events or to the grocery store.

And the shoes! I saw these and sort of laughed at them at first. They are very out of my comfort zone, but I needed a pair of neutral block heels that I could do a little walking in. Because of this, I decided to try them on. I automatically realized that my laughs were wrongly placed because these things are cute, a little funky, and extremely functional! I wouldn't wear these out, however, if I'm going to be standing forever. The transparent portion of the shoe definitely starts to stick to your skin after a little and if you're someplace as hot as New York City, they will become a little uncomfortable after some time passes. Despite that, I will be wearing these a lot more and would suggest them to anyone going somewhere like Mean Girls.

Also, I'd just like to say that the vast majority of my outfit is from Forever 21. It's not because I'm in love with the store or anything, just that it is cheap and they tend to have bright and colourful things, along with a lot of heels and such. I needed an outfit that I could get quickly and I knew there was a Forever 21 right where I was going that day. I am happy with what I got, but if I wasn't looking for an entire outfit or on a tight schedule, I most likely would have looked at other stores. Thought I'd explain why I look like that's the only place I shop or something.
