Don't Mock the Smock

A major summer trend this year and in years past has been off the shoulder tops and dresses. They're perfect if you have a more flowy, open style. The open-shoulder style of the pieces give it that summer-in-Europe vibe. I'm absolutely in love with them, but most don't fit me, so finding a dress that is in a gorgeous, unique pattern that happens to fit perfectly is like finding a diamond.

I spent the day shopping (how many times have I said that on this blog?) with my cousin and not once did I have to pull at this dress or adjust how it fit on me.

This dress is what the inventors of off the shoulder dresses pictured when they created them. Because the whole top is smocked, it hugs my body perfectly. I'm sure that it would stretch more on the models it was tailored to, but it works great on me too. Not to mention the Moana vibes I get from it! I mean, if you don't look at this and see Moana's main dress, you're crazy! Imagine it with a flower crown and sandals for a music festival or heels for a nicer event. They work with it as well. The dress is truly controversial and can be dressed up or down, for outdoors or indoors.
Now, everyone knows Converse, but I would just like to praise these a little more. Whenever I go out with a plan to do a lot of walking, I choose between my Adidas or these. Because my Adidas are primarily white, they definitely would have been a safer choice with this dress. Still, I chose to go with the black shoes because they felt a little more toned down and casual. I like that they made the whole outfit fit it's occasion and truly tie it together to be what I imagined, even if the white would have been safer.
